Oregon State’s Jonah Nickerson allowed only two hits in 7 2/3 innings as the Beavers (48-15 overall) beat Rice 2-0 in Thursday’s game at Rosenblatt Stadium, advancing to the championship series of the College World Series.
OSU head coach Pat Casey said Nickerson, the right-handed pitcher from Oregon City, did an outstanding job considering Nickerson had pitched 7 innings on Monday. The first and third games will be televised on cable’s ESPN, and the second game will be shown on ESPN2.
