A Prineville man was badly injured Sunday evening in a crash on Highway 380 (Paulina Highway) near milepost 10, and alcohol is believed to be a factor, deputies reported.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. March 4, Crook County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency responders with the county’s fire and rescue department responded to a report of a single vehicle motorcycle crash about ten miles southeast of Prineville, Detective Sergeant Travis Jurgens said.

Lyle Dale Corcoran, 46, was traveling east on Paulina Highway when he lost control of his motorcycle and left the road.  He was flown by AirLife helicopter to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with reportedly critical injuries.

Passing motorists found Corcoran lying beside his motorcycle, Jurgens said.

The investigation is continuing, said the sergeant, adding that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
