Meet Principal Candidates for Mountain View High, Cascade Middle schools

The community is invited to the first of several community forums designed to give students, parents, teachers and neighbors an opportunity to meet the candidates who may become their next school principal.
Mountain View High, La Pine High, Cascade Middle, La Pine Elementary and Elk Meadow Elementary schools are interviewing for principal positions this month. The openings come following planned retirements this summer at three of the schools and new administrative assignments for two others.

The first of five opportunities to meet candidates will take place during the week of March 12, including:

Cascade Middle School
Wednesday, March 14
3 p.m.
School Library – 19619 Mountaineer Way
Mountain View High School
Thursday, March 15
3 p.m.
School Library – 2755 NE 27th St.

The remaining forums are expected to take place during the week of March 19.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity to you to come out and meet these folks,” said Deputy Superintendent Ron Wilkinson. “We will encourage questions from attendees and receive your input about each of our final candidates.”

The community forums are the last step of a daylong interview process that will include formal panel interviews and writing and leadership tests.

The Bend-La Pine Schools will announce the names of finalists for the Cascade Middle School and Mountain View High School positions as early as Monday, March 12.

The new principals will begin July 1, 2007.
