"The Radio Zone," a live two-hour radio show produced by Bend kids, will air from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, June 30, on KPOV, Bend Community Radio, 106.7 FM. The Radio Zone is produced by Bend kids at KPOV's Summer Radio Camp.

Kids aged 10 to 13 have been working on their own radio program at KPOV's downtown Bend studio all week, and promise a jam packed radio show they have named "The Radio Zone, featuring original radio skits, music, poetry, storytelling, news to us, and bananas." That's what the promotional flyer says--"bananas."

The Radio Zone is produced by KPOV Kids Radio Camp in association with the Bend Park and Recreation Department. "The Radio Zone" follows in the footsteps of two other KPOV programs produced by young people--RANDOM, which airs Thursdays at 4 p.m., and Revolution Radio, heard every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

KPOV, Bend Community Radio, is a low-power FM radio station that broadcasts at 106.7 FM 24 hours a day and features 32 locally-produced music shows, 15 locally-produced talk shows and over a dozen syndicated radio programs.
