Jim Mazziotti say’s it came to him about a year ago when sitting in the bleachers at Mountain View High School (MVHS) for a meeting of parents with boys in the basketball program.

Mazziotti, owner of Exit Realty Bend, was there with his son, Tony, who - at the time - was on the junior varsity team at the school.

“When I heard Coach Craig Reid tell the parents that funding just to get our kids to and from games was a problem, I knew I had to do something to help,” he said.  So last week Mazziotti presented a $500 check to Coach Reid from an innovative program he created at his Exit Realty office.

“It’s quite simple,” said Mazziotti.  “I have a guarantee arrangement with any buyer or seller that, if they state their wishes and come to me in order to participate, that I will donate 10% of my net proceeds from their real estate transaction.

“It costs them absolutely nothing, and has the potential to build a huge fund to help our kids.  In my last closing, the participating seller decided that he, too, wanted to donate to the program.  So from just one closing, donations totaling $1,000 helped our kids at MVHS have the equipment, uniforms, and transporation that they deserve.”

Mazziotti says he hopes parents, friends, and family of all MVHS basketball players participate in the program so more donations can be made to a great program that benefits the kids.
