A Lincoln County jury on March 23 found a Canby man guilty of 46 counts of sex crimes, authorities reported yesterday.  Rex Duane Stephenson, 63, was arrested July 6, 2006 for multiple counts of various sex crimes against two 11-year-old girls that occurred over the course of several years.

Stephenson was found guilty of perpetrating the crimes in Lincoln County and Canby against two girls known to him, who were both 11-years-old when the abuse began in 2000. 

According to the Canby Police Department, evidence presented against Stephenson included victim statements and computer forensics that revealed child pornography on a home computer.

The Lincoln County Jury took only about one hour to deliberate before finding Stephenson guilty of 46 counts of sex crimes, police said.

Sentencing is set for April 9th in Lincoln County Circuit Court.
