The Prineville Police Department was first made aware of the situation Wednesday when they were notified by the Child Welfare Division of the Department of Human Services, Prineville Police Chief Eric Bush said.

An interview with the suspect at the police station led to the arrest of Randy Lee Maidens.  Bush said investigation revealed he had been sexually abusing his stepdaughter, who lives with Maidens and her mother, over the course of the last year.

Maidens is being held in the Crook County Jail in lieu of $900,000 bond.  He is charged with six counts each of first-degree rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse.
