Following a months long investigation, a 68-year old Crooked River Ranch man was arrested yesterday morning by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and has been charged with two counts of first-degree animal abuse in connection with poisonings and attempted poisoning of dogs in his neighborhood.
“The arrest comes after several months of investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Redmond Humane Society,” the sheriff said, adding that he does not believe Whitacre is involved in the reported shooting deaths of other animals in the Crooked River Ranch area.
The investigation is continuing.
