When police responded to the scene, they located Vogel and took him into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed that Vogel had been specifically looking for unlocked homes and vehicles, and that he had attempted to gain entry to several homes and autos in the area.

Vogel has been charged with Burglary I, Attempted Burglary I, Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle, and Assault 4 (Domestic).

Sgt. Koester of the Bend Police Department reminds Bend residents that “Citizens should remember to lock all of their doors and windows, and to not leave valuables in their vehicles.”
