Tualatin Valley firefighters found themselves performing an unusual activity Saturday afternoon – rescuing sheep wandering through heavy traffic on Highway 26 after a trailer came loose from its towing vehicle, slid across all lanes of traffic, and overturned. RVFR firefighters from Station 51 and several good-hearted motorists passing by assisted in rounding up the wayward lambs. Despite heavy traffic, there were no reported injuries – to persons or lambs – and the trailer was re-hitched and continued on its way. The driver reported the lambs were a recent purchase for a 4-H project.
