BLACKSBURG, Va. - Police said Tuesday a gunman who killed 32 people at Virginia Tech before committing suicide has been identified as student Cho Seung-hui.
Cho Seung-Hui was a 23-year-old resident alien who was an undergraduate senior English major. Virginia State Police Col. Steven Flaherty said investigators were still trying to determine if Cho had any accomplices. The gunman killed 30 people and wounded 15 in Norris Hall classrooms. He had chained the doors shut and went from class to class, shooting. Some students survived by leaping out of windows, while others said they played dead. Others were able to keep the gunman at bay by barricading themselves in classrooms and offices. A police source told CNN two handguns -- one a .22-caliber and the other a 9mm -- were recovered at the scene of what is the deadliest school attack in U.S. history.
