WSU Vancouver public safety officers were alerted to the graffiti found in a ladies room on the second floor of the library building shortly before 5 p.m., April 17.  According to a news release, additional graffiti in the same area referred to 8 p.m. as a “time of action”.

“In light of this information, and in light of recent events in Virginia, we feel the most prudent action was to close the campus,” university administrators said.

All non-essential personnel were evacuated, and the campus planned to re-open today.

“While this action may be overly cautious, the safety of the campus community has to be the primary concern,” they said.
