LAREDO, Texas - Seven people were killed and at least 72 others were injured by a tornado in the Texas border town of Eagle Pass.
Across the border in Piedras Negras, Mexico, at least three people were killed and some 40 were injured in Tuesday night's severe weather, the San Antonio Express-News reported Wednesday.
In Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Texas, Commissioner Rudy Herrida said National Guard troops had a hard time looking for victims.
"We can't even go into these streets because the trees and light poles are down and cars have been thrown into the streets," he said.
Funnel clouds, hail and flash floods lashed northern and central Texas. At Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport, airlines canceled 119 of 950 scheduled departures beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Dallas Morning News reported.
