Bend Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating three suspects -- two men and a woman in their late teens or early 20s -- who allegedly beat and robbed a man as he was walking on Franklin Avenue near the tunnel under the Bend Parkway late Wednesday night.

According to Lt. Ken Mannix, 27-year old Matthew J. Weber of Bend was approached from behind by the suspects about 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, then one man demanded money and assaulted him.  The other man and woman joined in the assault as the victim was on the ground, and the three fled the scene on foot in an easterly direction after stealing personal items from Weber.

The victim sustained minor injuries in the assault which didn’t require medical attention, Espinoza said.

One suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late teens to early 20s, weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a black mesh hat, and blue jeans.

The second male suspect is caucasian, also in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a white hat with some type of logo on the front.

The third suspect is a white female in her late teens to early 20s, about 5-foot 10-inches tall with a thin build, long brunette hair, who was last seen wearing a white or grey hooded sweatshirt.

Sergeant Espinoza said that anyone who has information regarding the second-degree robbery incident should contact the Bend Police Department at 541.322.2960.
