Deputies said Delfino Pacheco-Martinez, a 20-year old employee of Ioka Farms near Sublimity, met the girl and exchanged telephone numbers with her about a month ago at Chinook Winds Casino arcade in Lincoln City.

Previously reported as a runaway out of Yamhill County, deputies received a tip about 7:30 a.m. Monday that the girl was in a home at 147 49th Ave. SE in Salem where she was located and taken into protective custody.  She was released to her parents following a medical and sexual assault examination at Salem Hospital.

Deputies arrested Martinez at work and lodged him in the Marion County Jail.  He was scheduled to appear in court this morning on charges of second-degree rape, sexual penetration and custodial interference, in addition to first-degree sex abuse.

Investigators believe that on several occasions Martinez picked up the girl near her home, and that at least twice he assaulted the child at various locations including his home.
