Redmond Police Officers have arrested two Redmond teen-agers in connection with the stabbing of an 18 year old man which occurred last week.

According to Detective Sgt. Phil Paschke of the Redmond Police Department, officers were called to St. Charles Medical Center-Redmond shortly before midnight on Wednesday July 19th to interview Shane Sherman.  Sherman, an 18 year old Redmond resident, sustained injuries not sufficiently serious to require admittance to the hospital following an altercation with a male suspect in his driveway.

At that time, the suspects were unidentified, but further investigation by detectives revealed the identity of two persons who were allegedly involved, said Detective Lt. Wayne Shortreed.

A BOLO, or ‘be on the look out” was issued, and patrol officers located the suspects late Sunday evening, July 23rd.  Detective Sgt. Paschke continued the investigation and both teen-agers were arrested.  The 18 year old male suspect was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail, and a 15 year old girl was taken to the Deschutes County Juvenile Detention facility.

Corey Wellman, age 18, faces 3 counts each for Assault I and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The 15 year old girl, also a Redmond resident, was arrested for Hindering Prosecution.
