City Manager Andy Anderson has officially appointed Michael Magee as the City Engineer for the City of Bend. The City Engineer position is responsible for ensuring consistency in city engineering specifications and practices.  Magee will provide civil engineering, administrative, technical analysis and design support for City projects related to infrastructure, capital works projects and review processes.

Magee has been with the City of Bend for over five years and most recently held the position of Engineering Division Manager. The duties of City Engineer were previously included in the duties of the Public Works Director. In many cities, the roles of City Engineer and Public Works Director are divided between two professionals.

 “Michael is experienced, talented and highly skilled,” said Anderson. “He will be very effective in this role and in representing our organization’s interests regionally.”  

Michael Magee’s appointment became official May 15.
