GAZA - The parents of missing BBC correspondent Alan Johnston, who was abducted 66 days ago in Gaza, have recorded a birthday message for their son.
Graham and Margaret Johnston recorded the message in hope that their son has access to TV or radio, the London's Press Gazette reported.
The journalist was abducted at gunpoint from his office in Gaza in the Gaza Strip 66 days ago. Thursday was his 45th birthday.
"We're thinking about you all the time. It would be a much happier birthday if you could be with us today. All our fondest love, my son. Keep your chin up," said the correspondent's father.
"Your dad and your sister and I, we're all right, Alan, honestly," added his mother.
The message is only one part of a series of vigils being held all around the world to mark Johnston's birthday, the Press Gazette said.
