GARIBALDI, Ore. - Eight men on a fishing trip off the Oregon coast were rescued over the weekend after their boat began to sink. William Kelly of Oregon City told The (Portland) Oregonian that the men's boat, the Bullfrog. possibly went over the rope for a crab pot, forcing the engine to shut off and the pump alarm to go off. When the boat began to fill with water, one of the men on board radioed the Coast Guard. The group later transferred to a Coast Guard cutter and was taken to Tillamook. Only one minor injury was reported. A man who saw the Bullfrog sink from another vessel said the boat went down "like a rock." Copyright © 2007, by United Press International. All Rights Reserved. |
