Coast Guard helicopter evacuates injured fisherman

NORTH BEND, Ore. - A US Coast Guard helicopter evacuated an injured and unconscious crewmember of the 280-foot fish catcher/processor American Triumph about 20 miles offshore from North Bend, Oregon Sunday afternoon, officials reported.
According to a USCG news release, Coast Guard Air Station North Bend answered a search and rescue call to the fishing vessel based out of Seattle about 5 p.m., May 20.
The unidentified man, suffering “severe to moderate” injuries, was hoisted aboard an HH-65C Dolphin Helicopter and transported to the USCG Air Station in North Bend, then transported by an emergency medical team to the Bay Area Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
