Bend Police are asking the public’s help in locating two bank robbers who held up the US Bank branch in an Albertsons’s grocery store at gunpoint late yesterday afternoon and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to Sgt. Dan Ritchie, two gunmen entered the South Albertson’s branch of US Bank at 61155 S. Highway 97 about 5:35 p.m. May 21, brandished handguns and demanded money before fleeing the area.

Bend Police, assisted by a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office K-9 dog, established a perimeter around the area and unsuccessfully searched for the two suspects who remain at large.

The suspects are described as white males in their late teens to early 20s, with thin to medium builds.  One is about 5-feet 9-inches tall, and the other 5-feet 11-inches tall.

“Anyone in the area who may have seen these subjects fleeing the area is encouraged to contact the Bend Police Department through Deschutes County 911 at 541.693.6911,” the sergeant said.

The investigation is continuing.
