Body found in Willamette River ID’d as Portland man

The body of a man discovered near St. Johns Bridge on the Willamette River Saturday morning has been positively identified, and the Multnomah County Medical Examiner sasy the cause of death is probable drowning.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s investigators say there is no sign of foul play in the death of 60-year old James Lynn Robertson of Portland.

A boater near the bridge found the body floating in the river about 9:10 a.m. on May 26, and Multnomah County River Patrol deputies recovered the remains which were described as being in the late stages of decomposition.

The investigation is ongoing.
