Deschutes County Sheriff Captain Marc Mills announced Friday that a 52-year old resident of Crooked River Ranch was issued a citation for reckless burning in connection with the wildfire in Central Oregon that burned over 350 acres and prompted the evacuation of numerous residents.

According to a news release issued by Mills and Deputy Allan Borland, Lane Ball was burning debris on his property during the morning of the fire.  Believing that he had extinguished the fire, he left the area unattended.  The fire flared back into life and rapidly spread out of control.  Ball was issued the citation, a Class A misdemeanor, Thursday.
