Deschutes County Searches for New Budget Committee Member

Deschutes County is currently looking for a citizen to serve on the Deschutes County Budget Committee.  Applications are being taken now and until October 6, and interviews are expected to be held in November.

Budget Committee Members are responsible for reviewing a proposed budget and recommending a final version to the Board of County Commissioners for adoption. Citizens with finance or business management experience are encouraged to apply.

Committee members are asked to serve a three-year term and will not be paid for time spent working on the proposed budget.  Committee volunteers attend approximately seven meetings between January and the end of June including one full week of afternoon meetings in May.

Additional meetings may be called if necessary. Members review financial documents on their own time to prepare for sessions.
