OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Police in Kansas were looking for a "person of interest" in the abduction of an 18-year-old woman from a Target parking lot.

Overland Park, Kan., Police Chief Jim Weaver on Tuesday night released video of a truck that entered the Target parking lot where Kelsey Smith was last seen.

"We think this is a connection," Weaver said at a news conference, The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported. "We need to know more."

Smith, a recent high school graduate, was shopping for a gift Saturday and never returned home. Store surveillance video showed a man near her and leaving without making any purchases, police said. It wasn't clear whether the same man was the person apparently forcing her into her car in another video.

Smith's car was found in another shopping mall parking lot.

On Tuesday, Smith's parents returned to the Target store that was serving as a center for volunteers helping to look for her.

"It's been great. I think everybody realizes it could be their child," Kelsey Smith's mother, Missy Smith, told WDAF-TV in Kansas City.
