ALGIERS, Algeria - The al-Qaida organization in Algeria claims 19 attacks in the country between April 24 and June 4, killing nine people. In a communique last week, al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb said its actions were aimed at police and at foreign workers, Middle East News Line reported. A bomb discovered on a bus Monday was disarmed without injury. The bus began its run in Bughni, where al-Qaida is believed to be strong. The bomb was discovered in Tizi Ozou, a city 60 miles from Algiers where a police officer was killed and several other people injured in a grenade attack last week.
