A Selma woman died Wednesday afternoon when she crashed her vehicle into the rear of a van waiting to make a left turn from Highway 199 about nine miles south of Grants Pass, police reported.
Yeoman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Troopers report she was not wearing a seat belt, although the vehicle’s airbag deployed.
The driver of the van, a 2000 Ford, was identified as Julie Lynn Dunn, 50, of Grants Pass. Dunn, according to troopers, was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital with minor injuries. She was using safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the Grants Pass Patrol Office are continuing the investigation.
Troopers were assisted on scene by Josephine County Sheriff’s deputies, Rural Metro Fire, and American Medical Response. For two hours Oregon Department of Transportation personnel closed travel through the scene to one lane with only intermittent traffic permitted.
