The Central Oregon Community Action Agency Network (COCAAN) will be joining Clay Guild of the Cascades at the Boys & Girls Club of Bend during their second annual Wildfire Pottery Showcase event September 1-3. The partnership is an effort to get more pottery bowls thrown for COCAAN’s annual Empty Bowls event, where artisan bowls are filled with soup and sold as a fundraiser for the COCAAN food bank. This year’s Empty Bowls event will be held November 12th.
In addition, there will be a showcase gallery, over 25 booths presenting clay-work from across the state, a children’s clay area and live demonstrations. Last year, more than 1,000 people attended the event throughout the weekend. For more information on the Wildfire Pottery Showcase, visit: .
The exhibition will be held on Friday September 1st (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.), Saturday the 2nd (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), and Sunday the 3rd (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the historic Boys & Girls Club, located at 500 NW Wall Street, across from the Deschutes Public Library downtown Bend.
