BEND, Ore. - In a continued effort to represent the growing and changing needs of the Central Oregon community, the board of directors for Cascade Healthcare Community (CHC) has elected a new member to help lead and shape the future of the St. Charles Medical Centers in Bend and Redmond.
Internal Medicine physician, H. Derek Palmer, MD, has devoted nearly 12 years to caring for the Redmond community’s internal medicine needs. As a current member of the hospital’s medical staff for the past 12 years and the past Redmond medical staff president, he brings a wealth of history, knowledge, and expertise to the organization’s governing body.
“I’m pleased to have been selected to work with this remarkable organization,” said Palmer. “Healthcare delivery in Central Oregon needs to keep pace with the exuberant growth of the community, and I feel privileged to be in this position at this time.”
“Derek showed outstanding performance in his prior role as the Redmond medical staff president, and he brings a knowledge of the community that is critical to have on the Cascade Healthcare Community Board,” said Spike Biggers, CHC Board Chair. “He will bring an important and needed perspective to the health system.”The CHC board consists of 11 elected directors and includes at least 2 members of the hospital medical staff, as well as the President/CEO.
