Ricardo Rodriguez-Ruiz was taken into custody and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail following an interview with Redmond Police detectives.  He is charged with first-degree rape, kidnapping, sodomy, sex abuse, and unlawful sexual penetration; in addition to sexual misconduct, Captain Al Maich said.

About 5:30 p.m. Redmond Police officers responded to a report of a sex crime in progress at a residence in northwest Redmond, but upon arrival began an investigation when they learned the crime was not in progress.

Detectives responded to the scene and conducted interviews with the victim, the victim’s family, and Rodriguez-Ruiz, the captain wrote in a news release.

“Additional crimes are expected as additional interviews are conducted and other police agencies become involved,” Maich said.
