Cops search for woman in road rage killing

DETROIT - Police in Detroit are looking for a woman who is believed to have shot a pedestrian while she was arguing with a motorist who bumped her car.

Nicole Andretta Ecckles, 35, of Detroit is named in an arrest warrant with one count of first-degree murder, The Detroit News reported. Ecckles, who on June 18 allegedly was aiming a gun at a motorist she was arguing with, and fired a shot but missed -- instead shooting and killing 49-year-old Edward Houston. Ecckles then fled the scene, the News reported.

Police said Ecckles, if found, will face charges for carrying a concealed weapon and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Rosana Bines, Houston's aunt, said Houston was a good-natured family man who was bringing home a prescription for his sick mother when he was shot. Houston was walking with his 4-year-old great-nephew when the incident occurred.

The child was not hurt, the News reported.
