Suspect claimed to have gun, made threats

Police are looking for a teenager who stole a half-case of beer, claiming he had a gun, about 11:45 p.m. on Monday from Albertsons supermarket in south Bend.

A store employee said he approached the suspect on September 4 as he was leaving the store with beer he hadn’t paid for, said Lt. Ken Mannix with Bend Police.  The worker said the teen claimed to have a gun, made threats against the employee, and fled the area on foot.

Bend Police and Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect who was described as a white male, 16-18 years of age, 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing black pants and a black hooded coat, and headphones.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Bend Police Department at 322-2960.  If found, the suspect may face charges of second-degree robbery, menacing, and third-degree theft.
