A 63-year old Prineville woman was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries Tuesday afternoon when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel of her SUV and struck a rock wall in Powell Butte, Oregon, deputies reported.

Susan Rebecca Allen was traveling north on Reif Road when her 2007 Ford Explorer crossed the oncoming lane of traffic and hit the rock wall before stopping in the middle of the southbound lane, Crook County Sheriff’s detective Sgt. Travis Jurgens wrote in a news release.  The accident occurred about 3:45 p.m., July 24.

Allen was transported by ground ambulance to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries, Jurgens said.  She was wearing a seatbelt, and deputies did not issue a citation.
