A motorhome that crashed and nearly rolled in front of the Prineville Fire Department Thursday morning partially blocked SE Juniper Canyon Road for almost two hours, deputies reported.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. on August 2, a 1998 Beaver Motorcoach driven by Gordon Hurt, 55, of Spokane, Washington, ran off the side of the road into the ditch at 12051 SE Juniper Canyon Road in Prineville, Crook County Sheriff’s Deputy Det. Sgt. Travis Jurgens said.

The driver’s side dually tires left the road and drove into the ditch when Hurt attempted to turn at the entrance to the fire department, causing the RV’s frame to land on the pavement and nearly roll the motorhome on it’s side.  The RV and a nearby address marker were damaged, but no injuries were reported, Jurgens said.

The southbound lane of the road was partially blocked for about one hour and 45 minutes, and no citations were issued.
