TROIS RIVIERES, Quebec -- Investigators said Thursday a group of teenagers found a missing Canadian girl's bicycle the night she was last seen.

Cedrika Provencher, 9, of Trois Rivieres, Quebec, vanished Tuesday evening. Her bicycle turned up the next day behind a dumpster more than half a mile from the place where she asked someone if they had seen a missing dog.

Constable Michel Letart said that the teens saw the bike apparently abandoned on the street Tuesday and moved it, the Montreal Gazette reported.

Police are also trying to determine if someone asked Cedrika for help finding a dog, since she did not own one, CTV reported.

The Surete Quebec, the provincial police force, took over the investigation Thursday, the Gazette said. In the meantime, 50 police officers and 200 volunteers continued to comb the area looking for the girl and her possessions, including a red bicycle helmet and the ladybug necklace and a Star Academie lanyard she was wearing. A helicopter and dog team also joined the search.
