Over 31 grams of methamphetamine were seized during an investigation by drug agents that resulted in the arrest of two Madras men last week, authorities reported.
Juan Santellano Reynoso, 40, and Martin Salgado-Benitez, 44, were taken into custody and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail about 3:30 p.m., August 1, Bend Police Lieutenant John Gautney said.
Gautney, working with the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team had been investigating the men when detectives and an Oregon State Police trooper performed a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Reynosa near the intersection of NW 5th Street and NW Pine Street in Madras.
During the stop, a “substantial” amount of methamphetamine was located in the vehicle and on the person of Mr. Reynosa and Mr. Salgado-Benitez”, Gautney said.
Agents obtained a search warrant on a residence at 186 D Street, also, Gautney reported.
The investigation turned up 31.5 grams of meth with an estimated street value of $3,200, in addition to other items associated with the manufacture and delivery of controlled substances.
The men were charged with manufacture, delivery, and possession of methamphetamine, the lieutenant said.
