Bend Municipal Airport Manager Greg Phillips was recently awarded the Oregon Airport Managers Association (OAMA) Airport Manager of the Year Award at the 2006 tri-state (Washington/Oregon/Idaho) Airport Managers Conference in Eagle Crest, Oregon.

The award recognizes an airport manager who has demonstrated superior performance over the past year.  Phillips was selected from over 70 Oregon airport managers by a majority of nominations from his peers for his successful management of and continued effort to improve and develop the Bend Municipal Airport; public relations efforts in the areas of “Good Neighbor Relations”; environmental achievements; good business management; and his advocacy of small commercial and general aviation airports throughout the state.

Greg Phillips received the 2006 OAMA Airport Manager of the Year Award
“I think this award really speaks to the general progress of the Bend Municipal Airport in the last two years.  We couldn't have achieved this without the incredible support from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Oregon Department of Aviation, and the Bend City Council.  The award may have my name on it, but I look at this, really, as an award that belongs to all of us," said Phillips.

The OAMA is a statewide organization of Airport Managers, Airport Executives and individuals within Oregon communities who carry the responsibility for managing their local airport.
