One man armed with a knife robbed the lone clerk of a northeast Bend motel Thursday night while another suspect acted as a lookout, then both fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

According to a news release issued by Bend Police Lt. Ken Stenkamp, the robbery took place at the Days Inn Motel located at 849 NE Third St. about 8:40 p.m., August 9.

The motel clerk was approached by a man who demanded money then brandished a large knife. The second suspect stood watch by the entrance to the lobby, and when they were given the money they fled, running south on NE Third St., Stenkamp said.

The armed suspect was described as a white male in his late 20s to mid 30s, about 6-feet tall with a slender build. He wore his brown hair long, had a pierced lower lip and tattoos on the inside of his arms. He wore dark clothing.

The second suspect is also a white male, about 5-foot 7-inches tall with a stocky build. No age estimate was provided.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation is continuing, Stenkamp said.  Anyone with information is asked to call police at 322.2960 or 693.6911.
