Oregon State Police (OSP) detectives arrested a former Woodburn police officer Wednesday morning in connection with the alleged theft of funds while he served as treasurer for the Woodburn Police Association. The arrest followed an investigation that began one year ago after OSP was contacted by the Woodburn Police Department and Marion County District Attorney's Office with information alleging the theft of police union funds by Rodriguez. According to a news release, the investigation indicated over $29,000 of union funds were missing. Rodriguez reportedly resigned from Woodburn Police Department just before the investigation began. A warrant was issued for his arrest following an indictment handed down by a Marion County Grand Jury.
