HARTFORD, Conn. - Burglars jumped from the roof of an adjacent building to break into the Hartford offices of U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., it was reported.
The thieves left behind evidence in the Saturday night break-in, the Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported Monday.
"We have some ... properties that were left on the scene that we want to process immediately," said Sgt. Reggie Allen, declining to say what was stolen or left behind.
Police believe the suspects jumped from the roof of an adjacent building onto the fire escape of Dodd's office to break in through a second-floor window, the Courant said.
Dodd has served in Congress for more than 30 years and is seeking the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.
