Crook County Middle School hit by vandalism

Police say that while estimates are not yet available, burglars who broke into the Crook County Middle School in Prineville, Oregon early Monday morning likely caused thousands of dollars in damage to computers, cafeteria equipment, and other property.

According to a news release issued by the Prineville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the school at 100 NE Knowledge Street shortly before 4:30 a.m., August 27, in response to a reported burglary. 

Police Chief Eric Bush said that a “significant amount of damage” was found throughout the school including computers, cafeteria equipment, graffiti, and more.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Bush said, adding that damage estimates are likely to be in the “thousands of dollars”.
