BAGHDAD - A man arrested Sunday is thought to be the leader of an Iraqi terror cell allegedly funded by deposed leader Saddam Hussein's daughter, the U.S. military said.
The U.S. military said a raid in Saddam's hometown of Tikrit netted the unidentified man, who was under interrogation about a series of attacks on coalition forces using rocket-propelled grenades and roadside bombs, CNN reported.
With guidance from U.S. Special Forces, Iraqi troops staged the raid, the military said.
Earlier this month Interpol issued a worldwide warrant for Saddam's eldest daughter, Raghad Hussein. She is reportedly living in Jordan under protection of the royal family but the Iraqi government requested the warrant on charges of inciting terrorism and crimes against life and health, the report said.
Other leaders of the unidentified group have been captured in previous raids, the U.S. military said.
