A woman and her 9-year-old son returned to their northwest Bend home Monday afternoon to find the front door open, their property stacked in the foyer, and two burglars inside.

Roberta Howe, 45, and her son returned home about 3:30 p.m. to 10 Northwest Allen Road and saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway.  Howe went inside and saw one man leave through the back door.  A second man walked past her, got into the silver Hyundai parked in the driveway, backed up, drove across her lawn and down the street where he picked up the other man.

According to Lt. Cory Darling with Bend Police, officers responded to Howe’s 911 call, located the suspect vehicle, and took two Bend men into custody without incident.

Property allegedly taken from the residence was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.

Jon Arthur Trudell, 39, and Ted Anthony Trudell, 23 were lodged in the Deschutes County Jail and face charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, and second-degree criminal mischief.  Ted Trudell was also charged with driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, added the lieutenant.
