Pedestrian, 13, struck and injured in Redmond crash

A 13-year-old girl was flown to the hospital by a helicopter ambulance with suspected head injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in southwest Redmond this morning, police reported.

The accident occurred about 9:15 a.m. near SW Highland Avenue and SW 23rd Street, Redmond Police Officer Jonny Dickson said.  The 13-year-old Redmond girl was found lying in the street after being hit by an automobile driven by Mary Grace Garber.  Garber, 63, is also a Redmond resident.

The victim was flown to St. Charles Medical Center with suspected head injuries, Dickson said.

The accident closed Highland Avenue during the investigation.  Witnesses are asked to contact police at 541.693.6911.
