BAGHDAD -- A series of bomb blasts near the Polish Embassy in Baghdad was among a spate of explosions reported Monday around the Iraqi capital.
No casualties were reported; however the four explosions blew out windows at the mission, which had been targeted less than a week earlier by a bomb that injured the ambassador, the KINA news agency reported.
Poland has a handful of troops on duty in Iraq; however Polish officials said they weren't certain Monday’s bombs were aimed at the embassy. KINA said the embassy staff planned to relocate to the Green Zone.
The KUNA news agency said four Iraqis were killed in two separate bombings in the city’s suburbs.
Meantime, Iraq police said U.S. troops carried out a raid in Sadr City that left two people dead and four wounded. U.S. officials told KINA that no casualties were reported.
