PLEASE NOTE that events at Dudley’s take place upstairs in Dudley’s Bookshop Cafe’s quaint, old building which is inaccessible to anyone unable to climb one steep flight of stairs.

(Ruthie Dineen, Andrew Lion, Luis Salcedo, of Negative Press Project, with Eli Maliwan, Pablo Rivarola, Adam Carlson)- Special Guest: Blake and the Music Saturday May 31st welcomes critically acclaimed composers and co-leaders, Ruthie Dineen and Andrew Lion, of large-format group, Negative Press Project, with a retrospective and presentation of new music as “An Evening with D/L SEXTET” at Dudley’s Bookshop Cafe in Bend, OR.

SPECIAL GUEST: Blake and the Music

D/L SEXTET is a related configuration of Negative Press Project (NPP), the large-format jazz/indie-art/post-bop inspired original music collective originally from Oakland, California and driven by bassist Andrew Lion and pianist Ruthie Dineen. The pair released ‘The Victorious Sessions’, their first album since 2019’s Within, winter of 2023 on Ridgeway Records and an exclusive translucent-teal vinyl version on Envelopmental Music Records February 2, 2024. NEGATIVE PRESS PROJECT is set to release their Fifth Full-Length recording featuring the daring new music string-ensemble, Friction Quartet, with ‘CYCLES I’ on Envelopmental Music Records, January 30, 2026.
